The President of the University of Colorado (CU) is seeking a Vice President & Chief Technology Transformation Officer (VP) to lead the transformation of the overall CU technology enterprise and its role in advancing the mission of the University to deliver world-class education, research and healthcare to Colorado, the region and beyond. The VP will report directly to the CU President, Mark Kennedy, and serve as a member of his Executive Team.

CU consists of a highly federated environment, with an IT organization at each of the four campuses in addition to the University Information Services (UIS) group at the CU System level. The VP will play a pivotal role in gaining executive support in redefining IT across CU in collaboration with the UIS and IT leaders from key constituent groups, building on a defined shared vision for the best future state model for CU and marshalling collaborative action to achieve that vision. This leader will drive sponsorship and partnership across diverse CU IT constituencies to drive mutually beneficial strategies, prioritization, resource allocation, standards and solutions by promoting diverse cross-campus and cross-functional membership to facilitate University-wide mission alignment to significantly improve efficiency, effectiveness and information security anchored in the academic and research mission of the University.

CU seeks a technology leader of the highest caliber, which should be reflected in the appropriate combination of education and experience, and a proven track record of success. The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal and facilitation skills to forge strong interpersonal alliances, motivate others at all levels and build trust both within and outside the University. It is essential for the VP to demonstrate a high degree of emotional maturity to effectively navigate the University and gain critical stakeholder buy in. This new executive will be very comfortable leveraging relationships to move the agenda using conviction and tenacity, and articulating strong clear positions that differ from the prevailing view. The VP will be an adept listener and influencer with exceptionally high organizational EQ so they are perceived by peers as credible, compelling, persuasive, likable and trustworthy.

What we offer:

Salary: The salary range has been established at $275,000-$440,000 and will be commensurate with skills and experience. 

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
