Job Description

The Department of Communication, History, & Philosophy seeks applications from qualified candidates for an adjunct teaching position in broadcast journalism beginning Fall 2021. Teaching of upper-division undergraduate courses in Journalism is expected. Summer teaching assignments may be available but are not guaranteed.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Fluent in Spanish

  • A Master’s degree in Communication or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution.

  • A minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in Communication

  • A minimum of two years college or university teaching experience.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Willingness to work in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

  • Experience in a hands-on learning student newsroom

  • Familiarity with the needs of a non-traditional, first-generation, culturally diverse student body.

  • Familiarity with high-impact educational practices such as cooperative education, service learning, and undergraduate research.

  • Experience with contemporary instructional technologies such as learning management systems and e-portfolios.
