Department Information
The Southern Polytechnic College of Engineering and Engineering Technology at Kennesaw State University is the second largest engineering college in Georgia with over 5,000 students. Students receive hands-on learning experiences from industry-expert faculty in the University's state-of-the-art facilities to produce Georgia's next generation of integrated engineers, with technical knowledge, intellectual depth, and experience in professional skills. The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering consists of over 1000 undergraduate students and 20 full-time faculty members. The faculty are committed to growing a program which is nationally recognized for providing an outstanding education to aspiring engineers, as well as peer-reviewed research with relevance. Scholarship in the Department spans both industry- and government-funded research projects focused on the practical application of engineering principles. The faculty have expertise in areas including embedded systems, computer networks, machine learning, IoT and product development, as well as best practices in engineering education.

Job Summary
Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a nine-month, tenure track Assistant or Associate Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering faculty position, beginning August 1, 2021. Rank is determined at the time of hiring and will be commensurate with experience.

The primary responsibilities for the position include research, teaching and service work. Applicants from all disciplines with a research focus in Electrical and Computer Engineering are welcome.

The ideal candidate applying for an Associate Professor position will bring an established record of a vigorous, interdisciplinary, and sustainable externally funded research program. Those applying for Assistant Professor position should show promise for developing such a program.

Courses are taught on the Marietta campus of Kennesaw State University and are offered during daytime and evening hours. Faculty are expected to teach in a variety of instructional modalities, including face-to-face, hybrid, flipped classroom and online.

Required Qualifications
An earned terminal/doctorate degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or closely related field, or the foreign equivalent is required.

Preferred Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:

    Research specialization in machine learning, advanced computer architectures, embedded computing, the internet of things (IoT), or in emerging areas that would complement existing strengths within the department. Experience in securing or showing promise for national-level external funding. Industry experience and/or Professional Engineering licensure. Experience teaching in various instructional modalities. Research related to computer engineering.
