The teaching load will be a 3-2 along with supplemental workshops and industry outreach for the 2021-2022 academic year.
The ideal candidate will understand the history and theory of the documentary genre and have experience in creative producing, grant writing, story development, cinematography and all aspects of post-production. We are particularly interested in applicants whose creative work shows a commitment to diversity, equity, and justice.
Applicants may exhibit evidence of past teaching experience and a body of creative work with a record of achievement through exhibition and outreach.
Primary teaching responsibilities will be teaching courses within the program's Master of Fine Arts in Documentary Film and in the Master of Arts in Sports Storytelling. These include, but are not limited to, documentary and visual storytelling, cinematography, editing and post-production, as well as courses in the candidate's area of specialization. The successful candidate may also teach courses at the undergraduate level, participate in MA and MFA thesis committees as needed, and play an active role in the recruitment and retention of students.
The Documentary Film Program offers an MFA in Documentary Film and an MA in Sports Media and Storytelling. It has an established reputation for graduating award-winning storytellers who move onto successful industry and academic careers.
