Job Id: 621 # of Openings: 1 Wheaton Passage Program Director Responsibilities:This position is responsible to the HoneyRock Executive Director with dotted line reporting to the Dean for Student Engagement and provides leadership to Wheaton Passage, the multi-site orientation and onboarding program for all incoming students of Wheaton College. This is a regular, full-time position located in Wheaton, Illinois. During the months of July and August, considerable time will be spent at the Northwoods Campus in Wisconsin, and monthly visits to the Center will also be essential. This is an administrative position with faculty rank. Duties:1. Provide overall leadership of Wheaton Passage including program planning, faculty collaboration, hiring, coordinating with other stakeholders, marketing and recruiting, training, curriculum development, and program implementation. a. Coordinate the student leader and faculty recruitment and training process. b.Collaborate with Wheaton Marketing/Communications and Admissions to develop and implement an effective communication and registration process to all incoming students and their families. c. Facilitate Passage (CFM 131) curriculum, course, and resource development in collaboration with the Passage Faculty Team. d. Network with academic and Student Development departments across campus including: Conservatory, Student Health Services, Center for Urban Engagement, Parent’s Council, International Student Programs, Athletics, Chaplain's office, etc. e. Participate in regular student engagement director’s team meetings with the Office of Intercultural Arts and Media, International Student Programs, Office for Ministry Leadership, Office of Multicultural Development, and the Student Involvement Office. f. Coordinate program assessment from the students, staff, and faculty and collaborate with Passage Leadership Team (HoneyRock Supervisor, Dean of Student Engagement, CFM faculty member) to make and implement plans for program improvement. Submit annual report to Wheaton College assessment committee. g. Supervise Passage Graduate Assistants insuring their growth and development as well as the effective contribution to the Passage program’s coordination and communication.2. Collaborate with Student Development to coordinate logistics for all aspects of the on-campus portion of Wheaton Passage including housing, welcome days, parent orientation, and student leader recruitment.3. Mentor and advise the Passage Student Orientation Committee including recruitment, training, team building, leadership development, and program advising.4. Manage the Wheaton Passage budget.5. Provide overall direction of the Wheaton in Northwoods program including program planning, coordination with faculty and HoneyRock staff, marketing and recruiting, curriculum development, program evaluation. a.Coordinate with faculty planning committee to create an experientially based, memorable, effective learning experience for the students. b.Ensure faculty families have excellent experience at HoneyRock.6. Administrative planning and coordination: Provide administrative planning and support as a member of the core permanent staff of HoneyRock by participating in HoneyRock strategic planning, staff retreats, ministry assessment, and task forces as requested.7.Teach college and graduate courses: Provide up to a total of 4 credits of instruction annually (not including Wheaton Passage CFM 131) for leadership certificate, ministry tool courses [1 credit CFM courses], and graduate OAL courses. Additional credits may be taught as needed and will be paid as overload. This job description is intended to represent key areas of responsibilities; specific assignments may vary from time to time, and other duties may be assigned. Qualifications:· MA in Christian Education or related field required. Ph.D. or willingness to pursue terminal degree preferred.· Passion for, and skills in, discipleship and mentoring of college and graduate students.· At least 3 years of effective leadership experience in a student development related field. · Skills and expertise in the field of experiential education, adventure ministries, and group facilitation. Ability to train others in these areas.· Ability to work independently and accept supervision. · Valid driver’s license, if driving is required for the role· Competence in program evaluation, research, and related statistics and software programs.· Ability to work as part of a creative, dynamic team.· Strong skills in promotion, organization, administration, networking, and customer relations. Physical RequirementsThe employee is regularly required to sit, talk, or hear; frequently required to use repetitive hand motion, handle or feel, and to stand, walk, reach, bend or lift up to 10 pounds.
