Job Description:

The Department of Accounting, Finance, and Economics at College of Business at The University of Texas Permian Basin invites applications for a full-time tenure-track assistant or associate professor position in Finance with an anticipated appointment beginning Fall 2021. Candidates will be expected to teach at both undergraduate and graduate levels and to teach online and face to face, as needed. The discipline is adding faculty to service the growing MBA with Finance Emphasis and a planned MS in Finance program. The College of Business (http://www.utpb.edu/business) has AACSB-Business accredited programs in six undergraduate majors (Accounting, Energy Land Management, Finance, Healthcare Management, Management, and Marketing), Master of Business Administration (MBA), and Master of Professional Accountancy.

The college seeks candidates with strong teaching skills and potential for impactful research output. Service expectations throughout the faculty member’s career will emphasize contributions to student success, including engagement with local industry.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Employment is subject to an introductory period to monitor employee performance. If hired, the prospective employee must present documentation within three (3) days of hire date to establish their identity and employment eligibility as required by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Must be able to operate a licensed motor vehicle, have access to a dependable motor vehicle, and possess a valid state driver’s license. Must have and maintain a satisfactory driver’s record.

Required Qualifications:

REQUIRED QUALIFICAITONS:
1. Ph.D. (ABD will be considered) in Finance from an AACSB-accredited program,
2. Evidence of effective teaching in related courses, and
3. Record of publications in quality journals or demonstration of potential for publishing in quality journals.

Preferred Qualifications:

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. MBA, CFA, CFP or other recognized certification or working experience in a business environment
2. Able to develop new courses and curriculum based on the college’s needs
