Head of Housekeeping, The Lodge at Hocking College
Annual Salary: $30,000 - 35,000

Position Purpose
Under the direct supervision of the General Manager of the Lodge at Hocking College, the Head of Housekeeping will manage all housekeeping operations at the Lodge. This includes cleaning all common and guest areas to the standards of Hocking College, maintaining cleaning supplies and general inventory of the hotel. A candidate should have strong attention to detail and take pride in the overall look and feel of the hotel.

Position Purpose


Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide housekeeping duties including but not limited to changing sheets, changing and arranging towels, restocking toilet supplies, vacuuming, dusting, and rearranging guest rooms after checkout.
  • Ensure all rooms are cared for and inspected according to Hocking College standards.
  • Responsible for supervision and oversight of all housekeeping and laundry operations.
  • Train all support staff and ensure each hotel floor is maintained for linen, guestroom amenities, and needed cleaning supplies.
  • Complete daily linen inventory reports on soiled, damaged, and replacement linens.
  • Complete daily missing guestroom and room damage report.
  • Reply to all linen and cleaning requests from quests.
  • Communicate with linen suppliers, as well as general and personal cleaning suppliers including but not limited to guest supplies such as soap, shampoo and lotion.
  • Control inventory and supply costs.
  • Control housekeeping and cleaning staff schedules.
  • Coordinate with General Manager to staff continental breakfast.
  • Adhere to rules and standards regarding health and safety and be aware of College-related practices.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

  • Qualifications – Education, Experience, and Skills Qualifications – Education, Experience, and Skills
    • Associate Degree
    • A minimum of three (3) years professional experience in professional commercial cleaning preferred.
    • A minimum of two (2) years of managerial or leadership experience preferred.
    • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
    • Organizational, record-keeping, and interpersonal skills.
    • Knowledge of hotel processes and procedures.
    • Understanding of rules and regulations regarding health and safety in the hospitality industry.
    • Confidentiality.
    • Caring attitude toward guests and clients
    • Attention to detail.
    • Learning and self-motivation skills.
    • Knowledge of organizational structure.
    • Openness to suggestions for improvement.
    • On-time and present for work.

  • Associate Degree
