Lecturer in Learning Sciences and Technology
Division of Teaching Learning and Leadership

The division of Teaching Learning and Leadership at The University of Pennsylvania's Graduate School of Education (GSE) seeks applicants for a lecturer position in the area of learning sciences and technologies.

The successful applicant would teach core courses primarily geared toward students in the Learning Sciences and Technology (LST) Master's degree program. These courses currently include the design of learning environments, foundations of teaching and learning, foundations of the learning sciences; and the master's research seminar. The applicant can also teach elective courses, as negotiated with the division faculty. This lecturer position also includes advising of master's students.

Competitive candidates for the position must have experience in graduate-level teaching and advising and have strong knowledge of the field of the learning sciences or related fields such as instructional design, STEM education, teaching and learning, and cognitive science. Expertise that compliments the expertise of existing LST faculty is preferred. Given Penn GSE's strong emphasis on diversity in its many forms, candidates from traditionally under-represented minority groups are particularly encouraged to apply.

This appointment will be for one academic year and can be renewed twice for a total of three years, contingent upon a satisfactory performance evaluation after each year. Candidate is expected to teach five courses each year and contribute to program administration.

We will begin reviewing applications on June 1, 2021, and will continue to consider new applications until the position is filled. We intend to fill the position prior to the upcoming academic year. Please submit through the online Interfolio system an application package that includes:

a) A letter expressing your interest and general qualifications;
b) Your current curriculum vitae;
c) Names and contact information for three references; and
d) Two Selected publications or other relevant manuscripts

Vision

As engines of knowledge and new ideas, universities have the unique potential to define the future rather than be defined by it; to pioneer change rather than merely manage it.
