Job Functions:
The SeniorDirector is responsible to promote and to protect the public image of theuniversity, developing public passion for the university and strategicallypositioning the campus to advance the mission of the university. The individualwill be an expert who utilizes immersive marketing methods to inspireaction. Responsibilities include but arenot limited to developing and leading innovative and cost-effective strategiesand communication plans that reach and influence, create desire within specificmarket segments and drive revenue through relevant program enrollment, retention,and completion. The individual must promote the work of the university withpolicymakers, advocacy organizations, business, and philanthropicorganizations.

Essential JobFunctions:

    As a member of the executive team, strategically leads and utilizes available resources to achieve agreed to and established goals and objectives that amplify the brand.
    Collaboratively develop, implement, evaluate effectiveness and define comprehensive data sets to drive marketing strategy that is designed to help the university advance and achieve key institutional goals to build relationships, enhance institutional reputation, and to strengthen the university competitive position.
    Provides leadership, development, and management for the Marketing and Communications staff and vendors to manage web and social media, creative and image production, print and mail services.
    Serves as the official college spokesperson at the direction of the president and executive team members. Lead crisis communication, serving as point of media or citizen contact in emergency or crisis situations. Collaborate with Safety and Security to coordinate and maintaining up-to-date adverse weather or crisis procedures and messaging.
    Responsible for editorial direction, design, brand consistency, production, and distribution of all university publications, collateral, and electronic media.
    Prepares a variety of talking points, briefs, fact sheets, letters, presentations, and publications for the president and executive team as needed.
    Develops and enhances relationships with local media representatives, public officials, and OSU A&M personnel.
    Completes all mandatory training and professional development each year.
    Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:
Bachelor’sdegree in communications, marketing, public relations, journalism or relatedfield.

Work Experience:

    Minimum of three years marketing and/or public relations leadership experience in higher education, policy or advocacy organizations.
    Strong interpersonal communication skills and progressive team leadership.
    Experience in analyzing, creating and directing diverse audience messaging.
Certifications &/or Licenses:

Valid Oklahoma driver’s license

Knowledge, Skills,and Abilities:

    Strong leadership experience, being self motivated with proven ability to set priorities and to perform responsibilities through own initiative and under direction.
    Strategic and creative thinker, insightful and curious with a sense of urgency; ability to develop adoptable creative messaging concepts and plan within available resources to successfully drive competitive positioning and brand passion within the community.
    Proven progressive experience in building and implementing a customer life cycle marketing and communication strategy integrated across multiple prospective and existing student touch points.
    Experience with developing market forecasts and reports through market research collection, analysis, and interpretation of university industry, and public data.
    Demonstrated effectiveness in media development and measurable brand growth experience.
    Maintains an ethical and professional behavior and professional appearance.
    Ability to manage multiple priorities imposed by anticipated and unexpected deadlines.
    Possess strong interpersonal skills and sensitivity to a multicultural, diverse social economic environment, working and communicating effectively with all students, faculty, staff, and community partners. Passion for assisting customers and representing the OSU brand with positivity and professionalismEvidences a history of demonstrating ethical and professional behavior

Preferred Qualifications:

    Master’s degree in public relations, marketing, non-for profit or M.B.A.
    Work experience at an institution of higher education and knowledge of the goals and objectives of a two-year community college or similar educational entity.

WorkingConditions:

  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include some evenings and weekends in an often times busy and noisy environment.
  • Work will be performed in various environments; office, remote, classrooms, outside, with a significant amount of public contact, in person, by telephone and via email.
Physical Requirements:

    Duties require extended periods of sitting, standing, talking, listening and computer usage
    Requires possible lifting of up to 25 lbs. (If an object weights more than 45 lbs., OSU-Oklahoma City requires this to be a two-person lift). A
    Ability to operate a motor vehicle to attend off campus meetings.
    Ability to set up displays
