Position Summary:

The Department of Psychiatry is seeking a full-time fixed-term faculty member at the rank of Clinical Instructor to work in the Child and Adolescent Outpatient Program (CAOP), Raleigh Campus.
UNC CAOP is a training program for mental health professionals to develop high quality multidisciplinary psychiatric services to children and their families. Services include child psychotherapy; parent guidance therapy; family, child, adolescent, and group therapy; psychopharmacological treatment; community collaboration and school consultation. The physical location of this position is in Raleigh, with the majority of services currently delivered via telehealth modalities.
Primary responsibilities of this position include:
•Providing direct clinical supervision to psychiatry, social work, and psychology trainees
•Planning and implementing seminars in collaboration with other CAOP staff ion parent therapy, child development, psychodynamic concepts, and additional relevant topics
•Participating in and presenting at weekly multidisciplinary case conferences
•Providing psychotherapy to both CAOP patients and Faculty Practice patients
•Providing clinical, teaching and supervision services at Pediatric Behavior Clinic, a weekly medication management clinic

Educational Requirements:

Applicants must hold a master’s degree in social work from an accredited School of Social Work.

Qualifications and Experience:

•LCSW with a minimum of two years clinical practice post-licensure
•Clinical experience with children, adolescents and families
•Strong therapy skills with multiple modalities including psychodynamic, developmental, attachment and family systems perspectives
•Strong interest in supervising trainees of various levels of experience
•Excellent oral and written communication skills
•Ability to work well in a multidisciplinary environment
•Prior work experience in a community outpatient setting working with children strongly preferred
