Description
The College of Business and Administration at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) is currently seeking applicants for a non-tenure track, full-time Instructor position in Cybersecurity Management starting in August 2021.

This position will primarily teach online classes in computer networks, cybersecurity technologies, IT risk management, IT security auditing, and ethical hacking. Other classes may be assigned as needed. Classes may be online or hybrid.

This position is 80% teaching load (equivalent to 8 classes per year), 10% service, and 10% professional development (for required on-going practice-related activities to maintain a minimum of AACSB "Instructional Practitioner” status).

UCCS is one of four campuses in the University of Colorado system and is home to over 10,500 undergraduate and 1,900 graduate students. The AACSB International accredited College of Business enrolls approximately 2,000 students annually. The College of Business offers comprehensive undergraduate degrees, select master’s degrees, and professional programs that emphasize principle-based ethical decision making.

What We Offer:

Salary Range: Generally starting at $70,000 - $75,000 per academic year

This position is dependent on the availability of auxiliary revenues funding.

Tentative Search Timeline:

  • The potential dates for interviews with the search committee will be May 10-14, 2021.

  • The potential dates for interviews with the supervisor and appointing authority will be May 24-28, 2021.

  • The potential employee start date is August 2021. 

This position has been determined to be exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications

  • A completed Master's degree in information security, information systems, information technology, computer science, or a related area from a regionally accredited institution.
  • At least one (1) year experience of teaching at a regionally accredited college or university.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Degrees from an AACSB or similarly accredited institution.
  • A terminal degree (e.g. JD or PhD) in a technology-related discipline.
  • Ability or interest in teaching online classes.
  • Relevant industry-recognized cybersecurity certification e.g. Certified Information Systems Security Professional, Certified Information Systems Auditor, or other cybersecurity certification.
  • Relevant industry experience that includes current engagement in professional activities.
Physical Requirements

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to move. 
  • Employee is occasionally required to have long periods of sitting, moderate bending, and fine motor skills.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
