The Newcomb Art Department of Tulane University in New Orleans seeks a Visiting Assistant Professor specializing in drawing, painting, and printmaking. The Newcomb Art Department is one of the largest and most important departments within the School of Liberal Arts at Tulane. This is a two-year position that begins July 31, 2021. The teaching load is 3/3 and includes introductory drawing and painting courses focused on rendering from observation and 2D design, as well as courses in printmaking that could include: etching, relief, screenprint, and/or lithography.
· Experience in teaching Foundations-level courses at the collegiate level.
· Ability to teach undergraduate coursework with additional departmental service on MFA/BFA student committees.
· Possess strong skills in inclusive pedagogy and developing diverse and equitable learning environments.
· Can contribute to the educational mission of the department and university, and collaborate on EDI and anti-racism initiatives.
· Possess an MFA, have at least 3 years of previous teaching experience at the collegiate level, and professional development in EDI.
