The Administrative Assistant provides front-line customer service for the students, faculty, staff and administration at Georgia College & State University, and performs a variety of administrative and staff support duties for the department.
Under direct supervision, performs a variety of office support and/or secretarial duties for a specified unit/department, such as composing and word processing a variety of standard documents and correspondence, relaying and resolving routine telephone and/or walk-up inquiries, processing forms, performing data entry, and establishing and maintaining records. Edits and proofreads documents to ensure accuracy. May perform duties involving simple mathematical calculations.
Coordinates all aspects of communications with prospective students and applicants, including decision letters, emails, and tele-counseling efforts. This includes (but is not limited to) drafting and mailing letters; drafting, designing, developing, and sending emails, including building filters for population selection; drafting scripts for tele-counseling, and creating call jobs for tele-counseling; and mailing information items to interested students. Monitors responses of surveys and other feedback requested through our communications. Maintains supply of print materials, including recruitment items and pieces used in acceptance packets. Due to nature of admissions, some work is required during nights and weekends.
