.extra-padding-top {margin-top: 20px;} Milwaukee, WI, USA Part Time Email Me Similar JobsEmail Me This JobPosition Summary:The Vice President for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion provides strategic leadership and direction for a campus-wide commitment to and active support of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) efforts. The Vice President provides guidance to the campus that supports under-represented populations and education to students and employees in an effort to increase knowledge, understanding, and skills related to DEI. The Chief Diversity Officer will be highly engaged in the recruitment and retention of under-represented populations of students and employees and will advise senior leadership in developing the campus response to emerging DEI issues, challenges and initiatives. Primary Responsibilities:
- Serves as a member of President's Council and the Leadership Team
- Coordinates the University's multiple efforts that promote DEI to ensure consistency, eliminate redundancy and promote a unified vision (DEI Council, HHMI, Grace Scholars, Title III, others as determined by the VP)
- Assist in developing strategies for recruiting, hiring and retaining more faculty, staff and administration of color
- Propose, support and/or facilitate events related to diverse populations such as Martin Luther King Day, Heritage Months, and other special relevant holidays
- Facilitate, in collaboration with campus leadership, the institutional response to issues related to DEI
- Attend Board of Trustee Meetings and present as requested.
- Serve as a source of guidance and conflict resolution related to issues of DEI Perform other duties, responsibilities, or special projects as assigned
- Experience working at the senior director or C-suite level
- Minimum 5 years of progressively higher level professional experience
- Experience in diverse employee hiring and retention, conflict resolution, and collaborative teamwork
- Work experience in the area of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
- Evidence of success in working with under-represented populations
- Outstanding verbal, written, and presentation skills; must be able to communicate and interact effectively with Mount Mary students, employees and Board members
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Excellent attention to detail
- Highly organized and self-motivated
- Master's degree in relevant area.
