Description
This position is designed for individuals who hold a Ph.D. in Cell and Molecular Biology, Virology, or a related field and intend to pursue academic careers at primarily undergraduate institutions. Responsibilities of this position include mentoring undergraduate and graduate students in research projects and performing research and laboratory managerial tasks in support of the Principal Investigator, Dr. Elana Ehrlich. The individual will have the opportunity to teach graduate or undergraduate courses in their area of expertise as an additional adjunct faculty assignment. We seek applicants who are passionate about undergraduate education with some classroom and/or laboratory teaching experience, are highly motivated and capable of leading a project and training undergraduates in designing and performing experiments, collecting and interpreting data, troubleshooting and solving problems in the lab, preparing publications, and presenting results at conferences. 


This position is expected to last 12 months with an up to two-year renewal option contingent on performance and the availability of funding.



Qualifications
    A Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences or a related field.Expertise in common cell and molecular biology experimental methodology.Degree in the appropriate field awarded no more than five (5) years from the initial date of appointment.Candidates are desired who are enthusiastic about mentoring students from diverse backgrounds.
 

A Criminal Background Investigation is required for the hired candidate and the results may impact employment.
