The University of Missouri is expanding and searching for a full-time Clinician Scientist with clinical expertise in either Radiation Oncology or Nuclear Medicine and research expertise in theranostics or novel radiopharmaceutical development or testing. The University of Missouri has unparalleled infrastructure and basic science faculty collaborators to develop the next generation of radiopharmaceuticals for imaging and therapy. With the largest University research reactor in the US (MURR) producing Iodine-131, Lutetium-177 and the new wave of beta emitting radionuclides and new infrastructure for pre-clinical and human imaging, MU is seeking a clinician scientist in the field of nuclear medicine or radiation oncology to translate novel theranostics developed by world-class radiochemists, biochemists, and veterinary oncologists into first-in-human and beyond studies. An interest and aptitude in leading clinical trials desired. Candidates with experience in translational/clinical research, working in collaborative teams, and leading and/or participating in extramurally funded research are preferred. Dedicated academic time will be commensurate with the candidate’s research productivity and extramural funding.Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: MD, DO, MD/PhD or equivalent
Candidates will be evaluated on:
Radiation Oncology Clinical Experience - Radiation Oncology board certified or board eligible expected. All ranks and tenure or non-tenure tracks considered. The appointee will have clinical responsibilities in Radiation Oncology. Our equipment includes Trilogy and True Beam linear accelerators. In addition, we have a brachytherapy program. Greater than 600 new patients undergo radiation therapy each year including both adult and pediatric patients. Faculty members will be expected to assist in the growth of the Radiation Oncology services. Other duties will include teaching and supervision of trainees and scholarly activity.
Nuclear Medicine Clinical Experience - Nuclear Medicine board certified in Radiology or Internal Medicine and fellowship trained in Nuclear Medicine. ABNM or ABR board certified or eligible in Nuclear Medicine expected. All ranks and tenure or non-tenure tracks considered. The appointee will have clinical responsibilities in Nuclear Medicine for the full spectrum of nuclear medicine including SPECT/CT, PET/CT, nuclear cardiology, and radionuclide therapy. Involvement in a variety of multidisciplinary conferences is expected. Other duties will include teaching and supervision of trainees and scholarly activity. Faculty members will be expected to assist in the growth of the Nuclear Medicine services.Application Materials
