The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign ( and the Department of Kinesiology and Community Health ( is searching for an outstanding candidate for a nine-month, non-tenure track appointment at the rank of Specialized Faculty (Instructor, Senior Instructor, Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, or Teaching Assistant/Associate/Full Professor), which may have the potential for reappointment in subsequent years. A strong candidate will be expected to have an interdisciplinary perspective related to Kinesiology and Community Health, the ability to oversee internship experiences, and the ability to teach a variety of undergraduate and/or graduate courses that may include the following: Aging and Health Policy, Health Disparities in the US, Interdisciplinary Collaboration in the Health Sciences, Physical Activity and Health, Contemporary Health.

Successful candidates should have an earned graduate degree in public health, community health, kinesiology, nutrition, nursing, or a related field. Instructor/Senior Instructor applicants must have an earned master’s degree and college or university level teaching experience. Lecturer/Senior Lecturer applicants must have an earned doctoral degree and college or university level teaching experience. Teaching Assistant/Associate/Full Professor applicants must have an earned doctoral degree, with demonstrated excellence in college or university-level teaching, the ability to assist with curricular development, and the ability to engage in scholarly research. Interest or experience in health education research, curriculum development, current educational technologies, and a strong desire to create new and innovative course materials and experiments will enhance an application.

Desired qualifications include, but are not limited to, expertise in health policy, health administration, and aging; knowledge of community resources; and internship coordination. The committee strongly encourages applications and nominations from women and persons in underrepresented groups.
