Rider University, an NCAA Division I institution and member of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) invites applications for an Assistant Director of Sports Communications. Reporting to the Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Communications, this individual will handle media and publicity coverage of six sports and share in some responsibilities for wrestling, swimming and diving, track and field, and volleyball. The successful candidate will: promote Rider Athletics; maintain, update and edit the athletics website; write press releases for specific events including contests, events and awards; create social media content and update to platforms; and troubleshoot technology issues.Position Requirements:
Qualified candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree along with at least two years of sports communications experience at a college or university or other athletics entity. Individual must also possess: working knowledge of and a willingness to comply with NCAA and conference rules; excellent written and oral communications skills; experience with website content management system software and various statistics software; time management skills; knowledge of trends in sports communications and technology; strong knowledge of the rules of many different sports; strong computer, graphic design, video editing, social media and internet skills; and the ability to meet strict deadlines. Must be willing to work nights and weekends.Position Preferred Qualifications/Experience:
A Master’s degree is preferred.About Rider University:
