The Department of Psychiatry at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure research track. Expertise is required in the specific area of the application of brain-behavior based cognitive assessment, computerized psychiatric assessment and integration of behavioral measures with neuroimaging and genetics. The candidate is expected to help bridge these domains using validated statistical tools. Applicants must have a Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. degree.

Research or scholarship responsibilities may include collaborating and developing the candidate's expertise in methodology and psychometrics while contributing to research efforts on brain-behavior and psychopathology in the section of Neurodevelopment & Psychosis, Department of Psychiatry. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with faculty and trainees in the department and collaborating programs.

The successful applicant will have a solid background in methodology and psychometrics an early track record of research applying advanced psychometric methods such as item response theory and structural equation modeling to the study of psychiatric disorders. The candidate should have demonstrated abilities to use geographic and sociological information to characterize living environments to examine the relationship between a person's surroundings/environment and other outcomes. Experience in developing and implementing novel methods and applying them in clinical research is required, including a record of publication demonstrating the candidate's ability to contribute substantially to a research program.
