Contracts & Grant Analyst 2 Job Number Full/Part Time Schedule Salary 22779924 Full Time 8AM - 5PM $50,000 - $86,450 Position Information There are two positions available at various levels for the Contracts & Grant Analyst recruitment. If you wish to be considered in multiple pools or are unsure, please apply for all positions.The BEES Administrative Unit provides business services for a large and complex operation encompassing extensive teaching, research, and outreach components for the Botanic Gardens, Earth & Planetary Sciences, and Environmental Sciences within the College of Natural and Agricultural Sciences (CNAS). In addition, BEES supports the UCR employees and campus purchases of the USDA Salinity Laboratory and provides conference management support for all units within CNAS. Under the direct supervision of the BEES Financial Operations Manager, the Contract and Grants Analyst will work in partnership with Contract and Grants team to manage the pre- and post-award administration of over 230 fund sources for approximately 40 Principal Investigators. The incumbent will prepare agency-specific, multi-year budgets and coordinate the submission of proposals to multiple agencies; prepare comprehensive and detailed reports; assist faculty in planning for the effective and appropriate use of all their funds; ensure compliance with agency-specific terms and conditions, federal guidance, and UC policy; and coordinate all aspects of Sales and Service funds. Experience Experience Requirement 2 - 4 years of related experience. Required
Minimum Requirements Knowledge of grant funding processes, procedures and techniques.
Maintains current knowledge of compliance regulations in all areas of research administration.
Demonstrated competence in the use of spreadsheet and database software in financial analysis, fiscal management and financial reports.
Writing skills to draft persuasive text for variety of audiences.
Knowledge of applicable federal, state, local, sponsor and institutional regulations, policies, and guidelines.
Ability to manage a high volume of transactions.
Knowledge of applicable compliance requirements related to use of human or animal subjects in research, financial conflict of interest, biosafety, etc.
Ability to maintain independent judgment; strong organization; communication skills; and a customer service focus.
Demonstrated knowledge of generally accepted accounting, fiscal and reporting principles.
Ability to perform moderately complex financial analysis and customized reporting.
The ideal candidate will have a welcoming attitude and be able to effectively manage difficult situations; will take ownership of assigned duties as demonstrated by independently shepherding tasks to a successful conclusion; will promptly communicate problems and issues to the Financial Operations Manager; will be able to meet deadlines and work accurately; and will be both a knowledgeable resource and the link between faculty, students, staff, and campus resources.
Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated knowledge of UC and UCR policies and procedures.

Demonstrated knowledge of UCR's financial systems.

Demonstrated experience in preparation and submission of contract and grant proposals using various on-line applications.

Experience working in an institution of higher education.
