The Department of Educational Technology and Foundations seeks qualified candidates for the position of Lecturer in School Library Media and Instructional Technology. Responsibilities include teaching in our online M.Ed., Ed.S., and non-degree certification programs in School Library Media and Instructional Technology and engaging in service activities. This is a 10-month appointment with a start date of August 1, 2021. The successful candidate will teach four graduate courses each semester.
Required Qualifications Earned doctorate with emphasis in school library media, library and information science, instructional technology, instructional design, or closely related field (exceptional ABD candidates will be considered).Master’s degree in school library media or successful completion of a state-approved school librarian certification program at the master’s degree level;Graduate degree that includes 18 hours in instructional technology (e.g., technology integration, instructional design, technology applications)Preferred Qualifications Significant work experience with instructional technology;Experience in PK-12 education and familiarity with professional development issues of teachers, media specialists, and instructional technology stakeholders;Working knowledge of library and information systems, learning theories, instructional design, technology integration, and/or distance learning;Demonstrated ability to build and teach courses in fully online environments;Experience teaching and/or advising graduate students;Significant work with adult learners and familiarity with adult learning theories;Demonstrated innovative uses of technology to enhance teaching and learning;Interest in working with emerging technologies in areas of digital media production, web design, simulations and games;
