Job Description:

The Department of Sociology, Egyptology and Anthropology (SEA) at the American University in Cairo (AUC) is seeking to recruit adjunct faculty members in the field of sociology for the Spring and Fall 2021 semesters. The candidate should have a strong background in Middle East and Arab World Studies. The candidates may teach one or more of the following undergraduate courses: Introduction to Sociology, Arab Society, Social Problems in the Middle East, Arab Family, courses on Egyptian society, and/or Community Development related courses.


Commitment to teaching and engagement of students, as well as service to the Unit and the Department are necessary. An active research and practice agenda is recommended. Candidates can be at the level of MA or MS, PhD degree holders.
