Nature of Work

Senior Professionals are responsible for exercising discretion, analytical skill, personal accountability and responsibility in a wide range of areas including academic, administrative, managerial and student services functions. Work involves creating, integrating, applying and sharing knowledge directly related to a professional field.  Work is performed fully independently.

Examples of Work Preformed

  • Design and develop reports, dashboards, data extracts, and visualizations across a variety of healthcare and biomedical domains
  • Assist with the design of the dimensional models behind reporting platforms
  • Work with a team throughout all phases of software development lifecycle
  • Complete full lifecycle development for business intelligence (BI) reports and applications. Analyze user needs and requirements to modify existing reports
  • In a university setting, develop SQL queries from clinical databases
  • Work with university faculty to analyze and define business requirements
  • Develop efficient SQL queries and design algorithms to extract data from cloud-based data warehouses like Google BigQuery, and/or relational databases like SQL Server
  • Format result datasets to follow standard data input processes for reporting platforms
  • Validate and test output result accuracy; perform code review, data product user-acceptance testing, and other related testing
  • Profile and understand enterprise data warehouses in order to answer research-based questions.
Salary and Benefits:

The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $74,526 - $100,000

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications

  • MS degree in Computer Science, Financial Mathematics, Computer Information Systems, or related quantitative field
  • 2 years experience as a business analyst, business intelligence developer, software developer, programmer, or related occupation, which must include some experience with developing SQL queries to extract data from relational databases (SQL Server and Oracle); SQL and Transact-SQL; designing, developing and validating BI outputs using Tableau; troubleshooting and resolving bugs related to data accuracy, usability, and performance issues; working efficiently with large clinical data warehouses; data structure, and data manipulation techniques.
  • Requires 1 year of experience working with EMR data like Epic Clarity
  • Completion of a background investigation also required.
