Job Description

The University of Missouri has an opening for an ABR certified and fellowship trained MSK radiologist. Faculty rank and position will be commensurate with credentials and experience. The MSK radiology service is based in the Missouri Orthopedic Institute (MOI), which is central Missouri’s largest freestanding orthopedic center. The orthopedic department at MU is growing rapidly, creating a need for expansion of the MSK radiology section. MSK faculty work closely with an academic and highly subspecialized orthopedic department as well as other departments in the university and the community. The MSK reading room is embedded in the Orthopedic clinic space at MOI. The position involves diagnostic MRI, CT, US, imaging-guided MSK procedures and plain film. The faculty member will have the opportunity to assist in the growth of the radiologic services, education of medical students, residents and fellows, as well as participate in research and scholarly activities. MU is a level 1 Trauma center serving a wide catchment area in central Missouri. At MOI, there are 1.5T and 3T MRI scanners and a CT scanner as well as US and procedure rooms. Radiology has a total of four 1.5T and three 3T MRI scanners with additional 3T and 7T MRI scanners opening in October 2021. Approximately 320,000 radiology exams are performed each year between the University Hospital & Clinics, Ellis Fischel Cancer Center, Women’s and Children’s Hospital, MOI and out-patient imaging center.

The University of Missouri has a rich tradition in strong clinical and educational programs. The Department of Radiology is poised to enrich and expand clinical, educational and research opportunities for faculty and trainees. https://medicine.missouri.edu/departments/radiology
