The Management Communication Center in the Warrington College of Business at the University of Florida invites applications for a full-time Lecturer position in Management Communication.

The position is a 12-month, full-time, non-tenure accruing faculty position beginning August 16, 2021, continuing through June 30, 2022, and is renewable annually

carries a 16-credit teaching load for 12-months

Support is provided, including moving expenses, administrative assistance, office space, computers, and other resources. The position is expected to be ongoing, with an original three-year commitment, based on satisfactory performance.

The role of lecturers is highly valued by the Center and the University. To encourage and facilitate their professional development, lecturers at the University of Florida are eligible for promotion through the ranks of Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, and Master Lecturer.

The successful candidate will teach business writing and speaking in the undergraduate program, specialized master’s programs, and MBA programs, both in-person and online. In addition to fulfilling these teaching responsibilities, applicants will be expected to maintain their professional qualifications through ongoing professional development, consulting experience, or research activity.

Academic Requirements

Discipline-related Ph.D., preferably from a professional, technical, or business communication program, or a rhetoric or communication program.

Successful candidates should have a Ph.D. in hand at the time of application, though ABD candidates nearing the conclusion of their doctoral programs may apply.

Experience Requirements

Relevant experience and demonstrated excellence in teaching business or professional writing and speaking at the university level.

Business knowledge and experience preferred, but not required.

Letters of recommendation and statement of teaching philosophy are not required as part of the initial application. Applications will be reviewed beginning March 5, 2021 as received and the position will remain open until filled.
