POSITION TITLE: International Programs Advisor

WORKING TITLE: International Programs Advisor/International Graduate Law Programs

POSITION SUMMARY: The International Programs Advisor, International Graduate Law Programs works closely with the Assistant Dean of International and Graduate Programs to coordinate and manage the operation and coordination of the initiatives and services of the law school’s International Graduate Law Programs as they relate to prospective, current and former students. Under the supervision of the Assistant Dean of International and Graduate Programs, the International Programs Advisor develops and implements an international recruitment strategy and coordinates enrollment management for the International Law LL.M. and the Maritime Law LL.M.. In addition, the International Programs Advisor assists with the day to day operation of the International Law LL.M. and the Maritime Law LL.M, as well as the Intensive Legal English Program for LL.M. students, the law school’s international exchange program and other international partnerships and the Global Summer Academy.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Reports to the Assistant Dean for International and Graduate Programs and Director of International Graduate Law Programs

RESPONSIBILITIES:

International Recruitment Management

Develops and implements international recruitment and yield strategies to attract prospective LLM students and meet the enrollment needs of the University, including management and development of CRM (SalesForce) as it relates to international recruiting for International Graduate Law Programs.

Evaluates the effectiveness of recruitment strategies and makes recommendations for program changes and enhancements.

Compiles, assesses, and interprets student data, event outcomes, recruitment trends, and market area trends, and reports findings to the Assistant Dean.

Responsible for recruitment processes. Evaluates and revises current recruiting materials, updates brochures and applications, marketing and advertisement materials, web page and correspondence. Organizes, manages and improves presence in social networks and web-based communications.

Student Services

The International Programs Advisor participates in all functions related to daily operations of the International Graduate Law Programs with an emphasis on tasks related to recruitment and enrollment management, including supervision of work-study staff involved in recruitment and enrollment management

Responsible for assisting the Director in connection with academic advising of LL.M. students including, without limitation, course selection; graduation requirements; grades and approaches to academic improvement; communicating information to and among students about curriculum; and solving student academic problems.

Oversees, reviews and evaluates advertising programs and works directly with the Communications Department in developing new marketing strategies, design print and soft media. Designs program materials for various events.

Interfaces with other Administrative office within the Law School as required for an efficient administration of the program.

Other responsibilities

Assists with management and coordination and coordinates of the School’s international exchange programs, including coordination of relationships with partner schools, application process for incoming and outgoing students, student services for incoming and outgoing students. Advises students as to eligibility requirements, curriculum and credit requirements for each partner school.

Assists Assistant Dean of International and Graduate Programs in development of new international collaboration opportunities for the School of Law.

Serves as alumni coordinator; coordinates with alumni liaisons to create communication and networking opportunities for alumni in their home countries; establishes and maintains International Alumni Ambassador Network.

Assists with coordination of Global Summer Academy, including recruitment, program development and student services and activities.

Assists Assistant Dean in planning, development and implementation of new programs, services and activities which improve or promote the mission of International and Graduate Programs.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree; JD preferred, and a minimum of 3 years’ work experience or comparable study or life experience. Fluent in foreign languages, Spanish strongly desired. Understanding of legal and cultural differences between countries. Excellent oral and written communication skills required. Excellent knowledge of technology including, but not limited to, web design, use of blogs, chats, Youtube and networking media to communicate information to students. Experience in marketing, graphic designs, eCommunication, etc. Knowledge of Salesforce and Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Excellent customer service, communications (verbal/written), and interpersonal skills required. The position requires flexible schedule as some events involve evening and weekend participation.
