Assistant Professor of Computer Science

Drew University seeks applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Computer Science in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science. 

Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will teach both core and elective courses offered to undergraduate students in our computer science program. Responsibilities include teaching already-outlined courses in the University program; developing semester curriculum and coursework; meeting with students who require assistance outside of lecture time; creating examinations for students to be tested; and providing academic advisement to undergraduate students. The successful candidate will balance teaching, research, and student mentoring, as well as share responsibility for committee and department service assignments. The candidate will also meet with the Mathematics and Computer Science Department on a regular basis to ensure uniform testing and development as a whole. We seek candidates eager to teach introductory courses in addition to more advanced ones in their area of expertise with an interest in and ability to mentor individual and team-based student research.  Preference will be given to candidates who can teach our new writing-intensive course that explores ethics and cybersecurity. 

Requirements: 

The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science and a demonstrated commitment to teaching and research of Computer Science with expertise in cybersecurity and ethics.
