Marketing and Communications Associate, College of Social Work

Regular Full-time, Pay Range MR07

The University of Tennessee Knoxville, College of Social Work is accepting applications for a Marketing and Communications Associate.  This position serves as a member of the CSW Engagement and Outreach Team and is responsible for the following functions that include, but are not limited to:

    •    Manage CSW social media accounts including creating postings, managing overall profile, coordinating strategic networks, and appealing to various audiences depending on the social media platform
    •    Utilize graphic design skills to create visually appealing marketing and communications materials that adhere to the UTK brand while also promoting the College to multiple stakeholder audiences  
    •    Assist the Marketing and Communications Manager in promoting the College's mission, programs, faculty, staff, students, alumni, and public programming using social and traditional media platforms
    •    Coordinate changes to the CSW website, as directed by the Marketing and Communications Manager and the Director of Outreach and Engagement 
    •    Work with Communications Team to develop and maintain communications and marketing strategies and planning
    •    Facilitate College online activities, and build ongoing public interest and support for the College though community outreach, partnerships, and collaborations



Qualifications
Required Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Graphic Design, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field required

Required Experience:
    •    Minimum of two years of experience in Communications/Public Relations/ Marketing role
    •    Experience with graphic design
    •    Experience with Wordpress for web design

Required Qualifications:
    •    Strong interpersonal communication, oral and written communication skills 
    •    Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary and fast-paced environment 
    •    Professionalism with colleagues, students, community members, and campus leadership 
    •    Knowledge of all major social media platforms
    •    Excellent copy-editing and proofreading skills
    •    Demonstrated project management and time management skills
    •    Proficient in graphic design with the Adobe CC graphic design software - including but not limited to InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop. High level of ability in creating original graphic design working within Adobe platforms
    •    Working knowledge of Canva and other social media design platforms 
    •    Ability to publish within WordPress

Preferred Qualifications:
    •    Photography and videography skills 
    •    Knowledge of SEO, keyword search, and Google Analytics
    •    Basic HTML skills
