Lecturer, Advertising Strategy & Management

The Department of Strategic Communication at the University of Miami’s School of Communication is seeking a full-time lecturer to teach courses in the advertising strategy management track in our department. This position will commence in the Fall 2021 semester. The position entails teaching up to eight courses per academic year, as well as academic advising of undergraduate students. A master’s degree is required. A minimum of five to seven years of professional experience in in advertising account planning, account management, agency management, or content management is required. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.

Successful candidates must have the ability to teach basic advertising courses, such as advertising principles, advertising strategy development, and writing for advertising management. In addition, the candidate must be able to teach courses in at least three of the following areas: account planning, advertising/agency management, project management, entrepreneurship, research methods, media planning, SEO, social media/big data analytics, and global/Hispanic advertising. The candidate must be passionate about working with students and must be willing and able to help students with academic advising and career guidance.
