Schedule Information:  Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (occasional nights and weekends)

Hours per Week: 37.5

Work Conditions: Local travel to area businesses, job fairs, Workforce Board meetings, industry summits and conferences and other related venues as required.

Duties of Position: Serves as the primary contact for Harper College resources at the Illinois workNet site. Provides admission, course offering, scheduling and registration information to new and prospective students. Coordinates with partner agencies issuing workforce training agreements. Tracks student documentation and progress funded by training agreements such as WIOA and TAA. Tracks and follows up on inquiries sourced to WorkNet Center. Reviews website information to include current and accurate information on both Harper College’s website and Illinois WorkNet website.

Coordinates workforce-related programs in conjunction with Harper College and other workforce partners’ activities under WIOA. Meets monthly with BCS and Harper deans or staff to share program information.

 

Directs clients to Harper’s Credit, Non-Credit, and Adult Education programs including those approved through workforce training agreements. Tracks and submits sourced inquiries to Harper College and follows up on student inquiries if applicable. Writes and monitors student training contracts under NAFTA/TAA and WIOA.

 

Completes and submits Letters of Intent in a timely manner.

 

Oversees maintenance of the list of workNet Center events on the Harper Web Calendar and other calendars in the community. Maintains resource files and makes appropriate referrals to other community resources.

 

For grant-funded initiatives or special projects, coordinates the initiatives between Harper and grantors. Oversees project documents/budgets to support project activities and compiles reports (e.g., Perkins) as needed.

 

Maintains records to monitor student progress in programs funded by workforce partners. Tracks student vouchers and follows-up with funding agency when payments are coming due or outstanding. Reports findings to CTP Dean and Business Office.

 

Captures basic information (name and contact information) on inquiries and leads for follow up by appropriate College departments at appropriate intervals. Provides a report of inquiries and leads for credit, noncredit, and adult education programs monthly.

 

Coordinates with Harper offices including Admissions, Business, Registrar, Advising, and Financial Aid to assist WIOA students. Keeps up-to-date information regarding tuition and fees on all approved programs. Coordinates with workforce partners to ensure students comply with the approved training plan associated with their workforce agreements.

 

Gathers program information and submits to the State List of Approved Training Providers under WIOA. Notifies coordinators when programs are due for renewal and submits information for state renewal. Reviews both Harper College’s website and Illinois WorkNet website each semester to ensure current, accurate information. Submits changes to appropriate entity.

 

Markets Harper programs and events to local job clubs. Works with Harper Marketing to prepare marketing materials such as brochures and flyers.

 

Attends local, state and regional Workforce Development conferences to ensure Harper’s inclusion in emerging workforce development initiatives.

 

Represents Harper at workNet Center meetings and takes appropriate action or refers issues to the relevant departments or individuals at the College.

 

Represents workforce concerns and workNet Center operations to Harper committees and leadership. Develops strategies to increase Harper’s participation in workforce initiatives.

 

Performs related duties as assigned.

Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in psychology, education, communications or a related area.

Experience Requirements: Five years’ experience in an educational setting with emphasis on workforce training or career education. Excellent communication and analytical skills required. One to two years’ team leadership experience, with the ability to interface effectively with various internal and external constituents. Extensive experience with grant-funded initiatives. Experience with the unique aspects of the workforce delivery system is preferred.
