The Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering at Bucknell University invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor (VAP) faculty position beginning in August 2021 for one academic year (nine months). VAPs teach six credits over the academic year – each lecture section counts as one credit and each lab section counts as half a credit. The expected teaching responsibilities are a second year signals and systems course and two third year electronic devices courses, all with labs, as well as one course to be determined.
While the primary responsibilities are teaching, continued scholarship and collaboration is encouraged. Candidates are expected to have a Ph.D. in electrical or computer engineering or a closely related field and have demonstrated that they can effectively teach a range of electrical/computer engineering courses to a diverse set of undergraduate students.

The Community
Located in central Pennsylvania, Lewisburg features a variety of restaurants, beautiful Victorian homes, the restored art deco Campus Theatre (owned by the University), charming shops and boutiques, and the Barnes & Noble at Bucknell University Bookstore. About 33,000 residents live in the region.
The city of Williamsport is about a 30-minute drive from campus, and Penn State University’s main campus is about an hour away, as is Harrisburg, Pennsylvania’s state capital. Bucknell is about three hours from New York City, Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington, D.C.
