Position Summary:

The incumbent is responsible for the support, and maintenance of new and existing software/hardware systems at the School of Medicine. The incumbent will work closely with the leadership of the Division of Educational Technology to ensure timely and effective technology support. The incumbent is also responsible for multimedia support including video production and website management. The incumbent will participate in the evaluation, recommendation, and implementation of innovative devices and systems that fulfill the School of Medicine’s existing and future needs. Position is non-exempt requiring flexibility in work schedule. Incumbent may be working after hours and occasionally on weekends. All hours worked will need to be preschedule and approved by the supervisor.

Compensation Range:

$25.15 - $31.90

Required:

Flexibility in work schedule. Must be available to work after hours and occasionally on weekends

Proficiency with Windows, Mac and iOS operating systems

Proficiency with classroom and audio-visual support, e.g., troubleshooting AMX panels, smart podiums, projectors

Proficiency with software helpdesk support

Familiarity with learning management systems such as Canvas

Ability to multi-task, work independently and efficiently to address a wide-range of technology needs

Must be up to date on current digital trends, including media production and distribution applications

Excellent communication skills. Ability to communicate with staff about technical issues in non-technical terms

Familiarity with media storage and sharing platform

Preferred:

Motivation to become proficient in new technologies, e.g., Google Glass, virtual-reality, mobile health devices, 3D printers

Knowledge of video production technologies and software

Knowledge of camera types including manual/mechanical and digital still and motion cameras

Knowledge of lighting techniques including portrait, studio and industrial lighting setups for print and digital distribution

Knowledge of editing techniques including linear and non-linear editing A

bility to use Adobe Connect, Premiere, Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, and Dreamweaver Knowledge of client and server-based scripting languages such as HTML, XML, CSS, ASP.NET, PHP, and Javascript Experience working within a university or higher education environment
