The University of Tennessee Foundation is seeking a professional to join the Advancement team for the University of Tennessee, Knoxville campus. The Assistant Director of Stewardship will be responsible for managing stewardship initiatives with a focus on acknowledgements to increase retention rates among donors, as well as to showcase the impact of private support. This position specifically manages stewardship strategy for donor segments such as first-time ever donors, reactivated donors, and mid-level donors. The position also manages stewardship efforts for privately funded scholarships. Reporting to the Director of Stewardship, this position will provide specialized stewardship support in endowment reporting and donor recognition groups for the Advancement division. The Foundation is an interdependent nonprofit corporation that enriches the lives of the students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends of the University of Tennessee through alumni engagement, financial stewardship and private investments. The UT Knoxville Advancement team aspires to be a key driver in UT’s vision to be a top public research university, produce at the level of a top 5 SEC fundraising program, and create a culture across campus that appreciates philanthropy and volunteerism.Knoxville sits at the base of the Great Smoky Mountains. Qualifications: Candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree and at least 3+ years of experience in development, stewardship/donor relations, or a related field. Internship experience or part-time work related to the specific field listed above will be considered as part-time experience credit towards this requirement. They must also have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of individuals in a diplomatic and professional manner and a strong commitment to customer service, open communication, and a team environment. Candidate must have proven experience maintaining accurate databases and generating thorough and accurate reports as well as proven ability to use MS Office Suite, database programs, and general ledger systems. Higher education work experience preferred.
