General Summary

Teach undergraduate and graduate applied voice and lead studio class. Teach Opera Practicum and a diction course (overview of French, German, and Italian). In addition, the successful candidate may be assigned other duties based on individual strengths and the needs of the School of Music.

Additional Information

The School of Music, one of three schools within the College of Fine Arts, has 400 music majors: 330 undergraduate and 70 graduate students. Voice students pursue a variety of degress in music, including performance, education, and music therapy, and study both classical and musical theater repertoire. Individualized attention, artistic excellence, collaboration, and a commitment to diversity and inclusion are at the core of the School of Music.

Required Qualifications

1. Masters degree in vocal performance or closely related field.
2. Successful teaching experience at a collegiate level.
3. Demonstrate collaborative work ethic.
4. Candidates must be able to demonstrate oral proficiency in the English language as a requirement for this position, as mandated by state law.
5. If this position is Security Sensitive or if you are subject to a criminal background investigation based on University policy, then employment is contingent upon you passing a satisfactory criminal background investigation. You may not begin work until the criminal background investigation results have been received and cleared by Human Resources.

1. DMA (or ABD) in voice performance or equivalent professional experience.
