Hiring Department Advancement Services ResponsibilitiesThe Advancement Services Department is responsible for all data going into and extracted out of the alumni and donor database (Ellucian Advance / CRM Advance) for UMSL. This position will support the Advancement Services and Corporate and Foundation Relations teams in a dual role. Reporting directly to the Associate Director of Prospect Management and Research, this position will coordinate reporting on fundraising staff portfolio composition and work to strengthen the prospect discovery pipeline. Assisting with research, data entry and biographical record updates to ensure reporting needs and data for tracking is entered into the Ellucian Advance database in a timely manner.
  • Assist with prospect research and prospect rating verifications.
  • Coordinate reporting on fundraising staff portfolio composition and work to strengthen the prospect discovery pipeline.
  • Work with the Associate Director to analyze data to help assess measurable performance of fundraising staff.
  • Ensure data updates are entered into Advance Web for tracking purposes in a timely manner.
  • Review and analyze data and reporting to address gaps and needs and collaborate to create or update reports.
  • Assist the Advancement Services team with CFR-specific data projects and prospect management.
  • Condense large amounts of information from various sources into the essential information needed to qualify prospective corporate and foundation partners and/or develop effective strategies for existing and lapsed organizational partners.
  • Prepare briefing materials for the Chancellor, Vice Chancellor of Advancement, Associate Vice Chancellor for Development, Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations, volunteers, and university representatives.
  • Maintain, organize, and analyze corporate engagement information from the members of the Industry Engagement Network (IEN). Prepare reports and briefings related to this group for IEN members and university leadership.
Minimum QualificationsA bachelor’s degree (or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience) and at least 1 year of experience. Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Attention to detail and maintain a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work with people from a variety of culturally diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently while also working as a member of the University Advancement team.
  • Nonprofit College work experience, with preference for prospect research/management and/or Alumni experience.
  • Database skills, preferably with a fundraising database/and/or data analysis and reporting focus. Experience creating research verification and portfolio building.
