Manager of Campus Operations - Ancilla College of Marian University (Plymouth, IN)

Job Description:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Actively engages the Catholic Franciscan mission and identity of Marian University by modeling the Franciscan Sponsorship Values, honoring the legacy of the founding congregation, promoting unity in diversity, and integrating the Catholic Franciscan intellectual traditions in courses, programs, and services.
  • Schedules and supervises custodial staff and monitors service quality;
  • Schedules and supervises maintenance staff engaged in building and grounds upkeep and repair, maintenance, inspections and safety;
  • Evaluates the need for and arranges training sessions;
  • Responsible for maintaining building HVAC systems and other infrastructure;
  • Directs, schedules, and oversees external contractors (electricians, plumbers, excavators, roofers, painters, landscapers, etc.);
  • In coordination with Marian University, develops and implements department budget; orders equipment and supplies and monitors inventory; makes requests for capital outlay expenditures as needed;
  • In coordination with Marian University, identifies necessary preventive maintenance projects and assists in the development of project budgets;
  • In coordination with Marian University, prepares specifications for physical plant projects; estimates costs of equipment, materials, labor, and supplies; prepares bid specifications for projects, equipment, and contracted services; oversees site and building projects performed by outside contractors;
  • Contributes to strategic planning by evaluating and projecting future facility needs and proposing options to achieve them
  • Serves as administrator responsible for facility safety and meeting physical ADA compliance standards; works closely with staff and officials to meet compliance and safety requirements;
  • Ensures the proper disposal of hazardous and controlled wastes in compliance with regulations and guidelines; works directly with outside agencies and local and state health departments as required;
  • Maintains Best Lock key inventory and issues keys to employees;
  • Maintains Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for all products used in the department;
  • Oversees fleet vehicles maintenance;
  • Other related duties as assigned.
  • Required Qualifications:

    Requirements:

  • Working knowledge of and experience with trade skills in maintenance-related areas such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry and HVAC; certifications or specific training in these fields is desirable;
  • Knowledge of product safety and life safety codes and requirements;
  • Ability to supervise hourly staff in the department;
  • Written and verbal communication skills necessary to support departmental purposes;
  • Associate-level degree in business or related field is desirable.
  • Must be able to perform physical activities, such as but not limited to, lifting heavy items (up to 50 pounds unassisted), bending, standing, climbing or walking. While performing the duties of the job, may be required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and may be required to climb on a ladder.
