Job Description:Ancilla College of Marian University seeks a Network Administrator in the Department of Information Technology. Working closely with the Manager of Infrastructure Services, the Network Administrator promotes Ancilla College of Marian University’s Catholic Franciscan mission and identity by working in conjunction with the Systems Engineer and sharing responsibility for the specification, selection, installation, configuration, system management and operation of all Infrastructure hardware and software for the Ancilla College of Marian University campus. The Network Administrator works as part of the Infrastructure team to maintain all network infrastructure related assets, applications and services. Also, the Network Administrator is expected to perform other related duties as assigned to support an effective and thorough educational program for the students.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Actively engages the Catholic Franciscan mission and identity of Marian University by modeling the Franciscan Sponsorship Values, honoring the legacy of the founding congregation, promoting unity in diversity, and integrating the Catholic Franciscan intellectual traditions in courses, programs, and services.Maintain, monitor and troubleshoot campus network infrastructureExperience supporting Enterprise Networks and design, develop, and manage solutions utilizing Cisco Catalyst and Nexus platforms, and Aruba switching.Expert knowledge of wireless LAN technology.Expert knowledge of fiber maintenance, support and implementationExperience on IEEE802.11b, g, n on 2.4GHz and 802.11a,n,ac on 5Ghz frequency band using Cisco and Ubiquiti Wireless Networking access points, branch routers and switchesExperience with enterprise VoIP technologiesFlexibility to work long hours under pressure during system outages and major implementationsMonitor, maintain and suggest design improvements to existing network infrastructureExperience configuring and troubleshooting data communication environments, including TCP/IP, Ethernet, LAN, WLAN, WAN and InternetExperience with Palo Alto, Cisco, and Fortinet firewall solutionsEnsure production documentation is accurate and up to dateProvide and maintain documentation of backup processes and retention periodsProvide Tier 3 support for customers and technical staffProvide and test backup and disaster recovery processes and proceduresPrepare and maintain written documentation of district server and application environmentsWork with department leaders implementing new software and hardware technologiesWork with vendors in the process of troubleshooting escalated incidentsWork with Systems Administrator implementing new server and computer technologiesAssist users with day-to-day questions, problems, and issues on Enterprise networksAbility to understand and communicate with a broad technical audienceRequired Qualifications:
Qualifications: Working knowledge of LAN and WAN topologies and architectureCisco CCNA preferredBachelor of Science in Computer Engineering preferredExperience a plus, but not required in the following: Cloud Migration, SD-WANAbility to investigate, identify and solve problems quickly and efficientlyLogical approach to work, self-reliance, and ability to work independently Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
