Job Description:

The Office of Finance and Business Operations at Ancilla College of Marian University is seeking a Student Account Manager. Working closely with the Director of Administration and Operations, the Student Account Manager promotes Marian University’s Catholic Franciscan mission and identity by providing exceptional customer service, maintaining accurate records, monitoring student payment plans, meeting with prospective and admitted students, along with other duties as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities::

  • Actively engages the Catholic Franciscan mission and identity of Marian University by modeling the Franciscan Sponsorship Values, honoring the legacy of the founding congregation, promoting unity in diversity, and integrating the Catholic Franciscan Intellectual traditions in courses, programs, and services.
  • Maintain records and account history for all ACMU student accounts
  • Ability to be cross-trained to provide general student support and direction for standard student processes in the financial aid office, Registrar’s Office, housing and residence life and admissions office
  • Support the Assistant Director of Business Services [ADBS] in creation and maintenance of all rate tables and course fee setup for ACMU in the ERP
  • Responsible to review and monitor student payment plans through NelNet
  • Responsible for individual student account review and outreach to support cash collections
  • Responsible for preparation, review and submission of a weekly student refund listing for ACMU
  • Responsible for posting refund transactions to the ERP on a weekly basis
  • Accept, manage and submit student billing appeals and requests for special payment arrangements to the ADBS.
  • Available for in person, virtual and telephone student or student and parent appointments
  • Responsive to incoming email and returning telephone calls within a 24 hour period during the business week.
  • Able to manage in person public presentations to student and parent groups attending orientation and new student recruitment programs and other presentations as assigned.
  • Recruit, hire, trains, supervise and evaluate student employees for the office with support from the ADBS
  • Support the book delivery process on site at the Ancilla campus and serve as campus Follett liaison
  • Willingness to facilitate and practice collegial relationships with student service area staff teams
  • Serve as a member of a student services team on campus at ACMU
  • Participate in and support student clearance processes at ACMU
  • Make annual recommendations for bad debt adjustments for individual student accounts and recommend allowance levels for ACMU to the DBS
  • Assist in preparation of items for the annual audit as directed
  • Prepare daily deposits of cash receipts received on site to include student A/R, donations and miscellaneous cash receipts.
  • Work in tandem on a daily basis with the MU business office team including attending weekly virtual staff meetings, communication by email, telephone and other virtual methods.
  • This position may have occasional required travel to the Indianapolis campus for training, professional development and support.

Required Qualifications:

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in accounting or related area or 5 years of experience working in accounting or accounts receivable. Preference given to a candidate with higher education accounting experience. Candidate must have a demonstrated history of providing excellent customer service.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to the mission of Marian University.
  • Requires the ability to multi-task and make rapid decisions in a busy and often noisy environment with many interruptions.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Must be able to interact with students, employees and other customers in a positive manner on a daily basis.
  • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Requires use of a personal computer and software products that will include but not be limited to Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
