Physical Requirements:Lifting, pushing, and pulling of objects potentially over 50 lbs., sitting for long periods of time at times, and extensive walking between buildings and across campus to assist faculty and staff, the administrative office, and the Director.
Shift:Days, potential overtime if needed to maintain freezers during off times, etc. (rare).
Job Summary:The University of Kentucky Markey Cancer Center seeks a Facilities Specialist to assist with the management of laboratory buildings, equipment maintenance, and training on specialized confocal microscope and Aperio Scanscope equipment.
The ideal candidate will have experience and knowledge of laboratory safety, standard laboratory equipment, laboratory animal handling, and University of Kentucky space and property inventory procedures.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities:Microsoft Suite, especially Outlook, Excel and Word.
Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? :No
Preferred Education/Experience:Bachelor’s degree plus two or more years related experience preferred.
