The Research Investigator (RI) will act in a leadership role designing, overseeing, and interpreting advanced experiments in the areas of bioengineering, cell mechanics and cell signaling.Job Description
The Research Investigator (RI) will act in a leadership role designing, overseeing, and interpreting advanced experiments in the areas of bioengineering, cell mechanics and cell signaling. The RI will participate in envisioning and writing research proposals and reports to funding agencies and generating critical data and other information for grant and patent submission. He/she will write and collaborate with faculty and other researchers on manuscripts, posters and other publications of research findings.
This researcher position requires exceptional problem-solving and investigative skills justified by a strong publication record, at least 5-7 years of experience in the field with education at a PhD (required), MD/PhD (preferred) level or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate research interests in areas currently under investigation (e.g. cell mechanic, homeostasis of extracellular vimentin) in the research group. Proven abilities to vigorously pursue scientific projects, both conceptually and experimentally, with pro-active thinking and action are essential for this role. The candidate is also expected to have strong expertise in writing and editing of manuscripts and research presentations. Excellent communication skills and proven ability to mentor and train junior laboratory staff and researchers are critical for this role. Ability to work with a multidisciplinary group of scientists in a dynamic team environment and to tackle multiple projects simultaneously is essential. Strong track record in initiating/supporting development of grant application is strongly desired. Hands-on knowledge of statistical computer applications is preferred.
