Job Description

Penn Parking Services has over 45 full and part time employees, including salaried professional and hourly paid staff and unionized staff. Parking Services provides oversight of revenue collection and control, capital improvements, maintenance & cleaning of equipment and property; resource and people management including labor scheduling for 27 lots & garages. https://https://www.business-services.upenn.edu/services/parking-services

The Business Services Division (BSD) supports the individual and collective needs of the Penn community by promoting a hospitable, customer-friendly campus environment through the provision of mission-critical services and essential operations. BSD’s mission is to provide high-quality service in a fiscally responsible manner. The Division is currently focused on three major initiatives: Revenue growth/retention through improved marketing efforts, extended services, and development of new distribution channels; driving productivity for the Division and its customers through the better use of technology, and enhancing service offerings through upgrades and expansions of facilities. http://cms.business-services.upenn.edu/

Parking Attendant (Flex)

Job Duties:

Process parking payments via credit cards and cash, utilizing multi-point of sale processors: cash registers, stand alone credit card terminals, and payment kiosks. Reconcile transactions, provide excellent customer service, and maintain control of parking facility to which assigned. Communicate with supervisor. Be available for variable shift assignments (Flex position per CBA).

A flex position requires attendants to accommodate alternating schedules throughout the week including weekends and evenings, as posted on Wednesdays for the following week starting on Monday.

Qualifications:

A High School Diploma or GED is required and 2 years to 3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Cash handling experience and ability to operate computerized cash revenue system is required. Acceptable experience includes retail sales managing customer payments and providing exceptional customer service. Must be available to work variable shift assignments Monday to Sunday (including evenings & weekends) as assigned. Valid driver’s license required.

Working Conditions:

High noise environment; Alternative work schedules; exposure to moving machinery; Outdoor exposure to weather.

Physical Effort:

Typically sitting at a desk or table; Intermittently sitting/standing/stooping; Typically standing or walking; Occasional lifting 25 lb. or less.
