The University of Virginia's Neurodevelopment Lab, under the direction of Dr. Christopher Deppmann, seeks applicants for a Research Associate (postdoctoral) position. The position will involve working on projects funded by the NIH and NSF to study the molecular basis of nervous system wiring during development and will also provide ample opportunity for developing an individual and creative program of research.
More generally, the Deppmann Lab investigates the competitive programs underlying nervous system assembly during development and disassembly during pathology. We are also developing tools to better answer many of these questions. We rely on several cutting-edge methods to answer our questions, including molecular, genetic, and biochemical techniques. The successful candidate will thus have the opportunity to profit from the lab's multi-method approach.
