Position Highlights:

Research, Innovation & Impact at the University of Arizona is in search of a Information Technology Support Analyst Extended Temporary Employment. The Information Technology Support Analyst is a member of a team of professionals responsible for providing IT services to Research, Innovation and Impact units. This position is responsible for facilitating the day-to-day operations of Research Computing staff and projects, and maintaining workstations for shared and individual use as well as instrumentation control. Responsibilities include operating system and software upgrade, network management, systems administration, user training and general troubleshooting of workstations and devices. Well qualified candidates should have customer service knowledge and experience, as well as technical knowledge and experience. Preference will be given to candidates that have experience in University systems such as SWIM, UAccess, KFS, iLab, and Office 365. Additionally, the candidate should have experience in Active Directory management and operations, as well as knowledge and capability in scripting languages such as Powershell, PHP, and Python. Finally, the candidate we are seeking should have strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work both effectively and cooperatively with a wide range of people in a diverse community. Position maybe considered for extension dependent on future funding, work performance, and/or departmental need.

This is an Extended Temporary Employment (ETE) position.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Maintain an even exposure to user issues and strengthen team knowledge by recording lessons learned; sharing knowledge, sharing problems and sharing approaches to problem solving
  • Installs, configures and performs routine maintenance on systems hardware and software including servers and operating systems. Creates and maintains user accounts
  • Installs, configures and maintains workstation hardware, software and peripherals. Evaluates workstation support needs; plans and implements maintenance, upgrades and training programs. Resolves hardware/software problems
  • Identify customer concerns, be aware of customers’ business process cycles; gather customer input to improve services and collaboratively develops solutions

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of computer operating procedures and techniques
  • Strong organizational, time management, communication and customer service skills
  • Familiarity with University Network and Central Systems – UAccess, UAConnect, UAssist, JIRA

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or equivalent advanced learning attained through experience required
  • Up to 1 year of relevant work experience may be required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting an enterprise level Domain environment
  • Experience with DHCP
  • Experience with PC hardware troubleshooting and maintenance
  • Experience in University systems such as SWIM, UAccess, KFS, iLab, and Office 365
