Job Description Summary:

The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Clarkson University invites applications for a faculty position in the area of Applied Geology with an expected start-date in Fiscal Year 2022 (after July1, 2021). This position is expected to be filled at the Full Professor level with tenure. Successful candidates will demonstrate an interest in collaborative research that complements and augments existing expertise among the faculty in the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department (http://www.clarkson.edu/cee).

Research areas of interest include but are not limited to: earth surface processes, geological hazards, geological site assessment, applications of geophysical systems, earth-society interactions, climate and landscape processes, and coastal systems. Successful candidates are expected to sustain a vigorous, internationally visible, externally funded research program.

Minimum Qualifications:

A Ph.D. in Geology, Earth Sciences or a closely related field is required of all applicants. Successful candidates will also be committed to teaching at all levels, and specifically, be able to teach undergraduate courses in geology that support the Civil and Environmental Engineering curriculum such as Geology for Engineers, Geologic Hazards, Geomorphology and/or Fluvial Systems .
