Director of Program Evaluation, Medical Education, and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI)
Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, Department of Medical Education, is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of Director of Program Evaluation, Medical Education, and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI). The Director may also be nominated for a non-tenure track faculty appointment depending on qualifications and experience.
Responsibilities and Duties: The successful candidate will take leadership in designing, developing and implementing evaluation of medical school curricula and ongoing planning and continuous quality improvement processes that establish short and long-term programmatic goals that result in the achievement of measurable outcomes that are used to improve the quality of the educational programs. The individual will facilitate dissemination efforts, ensure effective monitoring of the components and the whole of the medical education, and pursue externally funded grant awards and educational scholarship products.
Minimum Qualifications: S/he must be an innovative and creative professional educator with Doctoral degree in educational measurement, educational psychology, cognitive science, or a related field from an accredited institution of higher learning.
- Familiarity with LCME accreditation standards
- Quantitative and qualitative skills to evaluate educational impact with valid and reliable metrics including tracking data over time
- Ability to conduct independent research in learning, instruction, or assessment Strong technical writing skills as demonstrated through research papers, publications or technical reports
- Ability to effectively present and summarize technical information orally and in writing to a variety of audiences
- Project management skills necessary to lead all research-related aspects of a program
- Communication skills necessary to function effectively with project teams and external collaborators with guidance from more senior investigators
- Demonstrated skills in qualitative and quantitative analyses and research
- Experience with applying software packages commonly used in psychometric work or research (e.g., SAS, SPSS)
- Demonstrated ability to train and mentor others.
