Department Description:

The School of Medicine Information Technology (IT) Office provides centralized computer support and information system support for the School of Medicine community, from medical students to faculty to administrative staff. Services include central help desk and desktop support; administrative and clinical application support; novel application development and database hosting; research IT and data science initiatives; infrastructure services including physical, virtual, and cloud provisioning; physical networking installation and management; and web development. Additional services include managing the School of Medicine official web presence; classroom video recording and streaming systems; video production and editing; video conferencing; and digital signage.

Position Description:

This position will be responsible for management of academic technology platforms for the School of Medicine and affiliated clients. It will manage multiple enterprise systems, while implementing strategies for the entirety of the lifecycle of the systems. This position dedicates a substantial amount of time to supporting conferencing and collaboration systems. Tier II and Tier III support of SOM IT clients is routine. This is the primary support for the Dean’s Office and other high level, high impact, technical events and systems. Duties will include reporting and analytics on data. The Technology Support Analyst provides support for capture and integration into multiple different Learning Management Platforms. The position does ongoing research and makes recommendations on educational technologies that support the mission of the school. They also develop and support tools to support these systems.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

Associate’s degree in Computer Information Technology, computer Technology Integration, Networking Technology, or related area and one year of experience in the information technology field related to the position’s role; or
- Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution and one year experience in the information technology field related to the position’s role; or
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, math or engineering or related technical degree from an appropriately accredited institution; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Journey level required an additional one year of experience
- Advanced level required an additional two years of experience.

Essential Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

The candidate must have experience managing enterprise applications and services in higher education setting. This person must be able to demonstrate ability to work with data to run reports and analytics. Candidates must possess demonstrated customer service skills and the ability to deliver innovative technical solutions to non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience managing enterprise applications and services in a medical education environment is preferred. The candidate should be able to work as part of a team or independently. Experience with remote monitoring and diagnostic tools are a plus. Should have experience researching new and evolving technologies. Experience working with Cisco, Zoom, Microsoft, Extron and Biamp products preferred.
