Position SummaryBecome a key member of the Aztec Athletics Development team during a transformational period for SDSU and Aztec Athletics! The Athletics Development Coordinator will play an important role in the athletic department and on campus and make an impact on the lives of student-athletes while supporting the historic campaign for Aztec Stadium in Mission Valley. Under the direction of the Senior Associate Athletic Director of Development, the Athletics Development Coordinator provides clerical/administrative support and project coordination for the Athletic Development team. This position will assist with donor prospect research and identification, coordinating and disseminating communications to internal and external contacts, preparing documents and presentational materials, and maintaining various databases and complex filing systems. This position will coordinate fundraising activities and special events to foster giving relationships with current and prospective Aztec donors, alumni and the San Diego community. The incumbent will also be responsible for coordinating travel arrangement, processing expense requests, travel claims, and credit card reconciliation, and calendar management.For more information regarding SDSU Athletics, click here.This is a full-time (1.0 time-base), benefits eligible, permanent (probationary) position. This position is designated non-exempt under FLSA and is eligible for overtime compensation. Standard SDSU work hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but may vary based on operational needs.Education and ExperienceEntry to this classification requires a fully functional knowledge of and skill in standard office procedures and practices, as well as an ability to understand and operate in a variety of organizational structures. Additionally, incumbents are expected to have a thorough knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation and be able to clearly communicate orally and in writing. Some positions may require a knowledge of business mathematics beyond basic arithmetic. The ability to use and quickly learn new office support technology systems and software packages is also a prerequisite.These entry qualifications would normally be obtained through a high school program, technical/vocational program, or their equivalents combined with several years of related office work experience.Licenses and Certifications RequiredA valid California driver’s license is required within 10 days of hire.Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree.A minimum of two years of progressively responsible general clerical or technical office coordination work.Previous experience working in an intercollegiate athletics office.Experience with CRM Advance database and/or similar financial/biographical databaseExperience in planning events.Specialized SkillsExcellent organizational skills.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Demonstrated ability to make complex decisions and problem-solve.Negotiation and persuasion skills to achieve results and expedite projects.Customer service skills to ensure that internal and external customers’ needs are met.Compensation and BenefitsStarting salary upon appointment not expected to exceed $3,352 per month. CSU Classification Salary Range: $3,352 - $5,639 per month.
