Work Schedule:This assignment is for one week only (June 28 – July 2). Work Schedule is from 8:30 am – 4:30 pm
Pay Rate:$1300/week
Minimum Experience/Education:Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
Knowledge and/or training in the content area of the camp
Experience teaching and/or mentoring children and/or teens
Departmental Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education::First Aid/CPR certification
NC teaching licensure
Design structured, creative lesson plans for a five day camp centered around leadership and communication at the high school level with an emphasis on active/experiential learning.
*Instructor will compile a list of needed supplies (supply purchases will be reimbursed if approved).
Exhibit a positive, patient, enthusiastic attitude toward and commitment to working with children and youth
*Demonstrate dynamic teaching strategies to ensure that the camp is not only educational but FUN for the campers
Manage conflict and disciplinary issues, using effective problem-solving and communication skills, and keep Program Director informed of serious issues pertaining to campers
*Utilize Camp Counselors for assistance with learning activities
**Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, and effective interpersonal skills at all times with campers, camp staff, and parents
**Must demonstrate the following personal and professional traits; Maturity, Responsibility, Accountability, Enthusiasm, Creativity, Patience, Leadership, Interpersonal Communication Skills, and passion for working with students
**Must successfully pass a Criminal Background Check
**Must complete and pass an on-line training class concerning teaching minors on campus
