Job Description:

Analyze data analyses with specialized software (e.g. Statistical Analysis System (SAS) or Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS)) to address specific hypotheses associated with the project. Analyze pain-related data and neuroimaging findings. Interpret findings and prepare written reports for the PI.

Manage data. Analyze for quality control, documenting electronic data accuracy, and ensuring consistency between subject charts and the electronic database. Ensure that all paper and computer files are confidentially maintained.

Collect data in experimental protocols through questionnaires, experimental procedures, biological samples, and electronic sources (as specified by the study protocols).

Train and oversee student volunteers in collecting and managing data, ensuring compliance with Institutional Review Board (IRB) and privacy policies.

Assist the study coordinator with completing and compiling data on administrative tasks (e.g., following-up phone calls to participants, organizing incoming data forms, preparing follow-up data packets for mail out, etc. Develop new procedures to track data on study recruitment and retention.

Assist with data management for biological samples. Track scanned blood samples and samples stored in the freezer. Maintain chain of custody for shipping samples to the central laboratory per protocol.

Expected Salary:

$50,000/year commensurate with education/experience

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelors degree in an appropriate area.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Arts (BA) in psychology or other scientific field
  • Experience with data management and analysis in human clinical and/or experimental research
  • Experience conducting human clinical and/or experimental research
  • Knowledge of pain assessment and treatment
  • Computer skills
  • Statistical Analysis System (SAS) programming skills
