GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:

Under minimal supervision, the Operations Coordinator will be expected to carry out various duties related to project management and the collection, organization and delivery of information and data from software products (utilizing Kirkwood available data sources and software) to support Academic Affairs initiatives and decision-making. Responsibilities include providing software support, extracting data from various software products, and end user support. This position requires independent judgment, problem solving and decision-making skills, creativity, strong organizational skills, good communication skills, excellent computer and database skills, and ability to handle pressures related to tight deadlines and diverse personalities.

  • DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform data exports from various databases.
  • Prepare, test, and deliver surveys and other data collection instruments and organize and provide resulting data to end users.
  • Work with end users to train, trouble shoot and provide support for software and hardware problems.
  • Manage the preparation of internal reports maintaining the highest quality, reliability, and accuracy.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
  • Create and manage project websites on Kirkwood’s Internal Network (KIN).
  • Coordinate, develop, document, and update written policies and procedures.
  • PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS:

  • Be able to work from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily.
  • Establish effective working relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Represent the College in the most positive manner with prospective, former and current students, clients, suppliers and the community we serve.
  • Work effectively independently and as part of a team.
  • Accept responsibility with limited supervision, manage tasks to completion, and work with frequent interruptions.
  • Accept occasional responsibilities outside of the normal work week.
  • Possess strong computer skills in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Access; training will be required in the computer systems that are used by Kirkwood Community College.
  • Be an energetic individual with attention to detail, strong organizational skills, effective oral and written communication skills.

    PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES WITH/WITHOUT REASONABLE ACCOMMODATION:

    Position involves working in an office setting. Occasional (10-33%) standing, pushing, pulling and grasping. Frequent (34-66%) reaching and viewing a computer and other types of close visual work. Constant (67-100%) sitting, walking, repetitive motion, talking and hearing.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    Bachelor’s degree.Experience with project management and/or database management.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, OR REGISTRATIONS:

    Experience with both project management and database management.Experience working in higher education, preferably at a community college.
